Designed at the height of the visual art movement known as pop art. As featured in the permanent collection of the MoMA New York. An exceptionally rare "complete" vintage set of 5 Pillola Lamps in colors white, yellow, green, blue and red. Made of ABS and acrylic, each with stamped sign 'Collezione NAI, Design Studio. Each Pillola Lamp stands about 21.65" tall (55cm). Each Pillola has a weighted base which enables it to stand on its pedestal either upright or leaning to varying degrees. Each light is a plastic cylinder with a domed top and bottom and formed in two halves with one slotted into the other. The top half is white, the bottom half is coloured. A line of holes runs vertically down each light. Each light is supported on a separate disc, has an internal light globe and external power cord. A highly collectible set from 1968, each lamp is still packaged in the original manufacturer's carton.
These Pillola Lamps remain in pristine condition; some lamps have minor hairline cracks near their bases. Outer cardboard manufacturer's cartons show some wear and tear, natural by age. This remarkable and very rare set is vintage (not new) and is therefore excluded from our standard return policy. These are highly collectible and should be handled and displayed with care. We do not recommend them for daily use due to their value. Price is for the complete set of 5 Pillola Lamps as pictured.
The Pillola Lamps can be viewed by special appointment at our showroom in Sonoma California.
