I-Beam is a fabulous new creation by the legendary French
designer Jean-Marie Massaud for Glas Italia. Inspiration for the Glas
Italia I-Beam came from the sleek steel support beams which are used in
construction. I-Beam is a fine example of minimal modernism. Its sleek
and timeless design makes it a perfect fit for galleries, musea, banks,
insurance companies, upscale residential projects or corporate lobbies.
I-Beam is also a desirable lobby- or entryway bench with its
understated elegance and clean lines. Glas Italia went to great lengths
to make this truly spectacular all-glass bench extra special. The
unique design of I-Beam is obtained by the fusion of three glass slabs
in black smoked glass. This table's top seat and base are made entirely
out of 12mm thick tempered glass, whereas the vertical support is in
laminated glass. I-Beam has a removable cushion with black upholstery
and four round stainless feet supports at the base.
The Glas Italia I-Beam Bench is the ultimate in
minimalism. The design by Jean-Marie Massaud reduces a bench into its
most critical elements and eliminating all else. The result is a
welcomed addition to any modern home or office as its unpretentious
design truly accentuates the beautiful form and semi-transparent
materials. The I-Beam Bench is handcrafted by the glass artisans at the
Glas Italia workshop in Macherio, Italy.
