Bonaldo Big Table by Alain Gilles. The 'Big Table' was designed by
Belgian designer Alain Gilles for Bonaldo in Italy. This exceptionally
beautiful dining table received the coveted 'Good Design Award' because
of its highly original and very attractive sculptural composition. Big
Table is a large, functional table which, although created in
traditional materials like steel, wood and glass, is characterised by
extremely original design, so much so that the perception of the product
changes depending on the angle from which it is viewed. The legs of
the Big Table are laser-cut steel plates and each one has a different
width that highlights the different shades and nuances.
The Bonaldo Big Table is available in four
matte-painted colour versions: with white legs, multicolored (coral red,
orange, green and lilac), in a combination of browns and greys (powder
pink, brown, dove grey and amaranth) and anthracite grey. The
rectangular table top can be fixed or extendable. In the extendable
version, the top and extensions are made from a single piece of black
walnut veneer in order to ensure continuity in the wood grain between
the parts. The fixed version, which can also be made to measure, is
available in glass (acid-treated black or extra-light acid treated
white), solid wood (american walnut, natural polished oak, anthracite
grey polished oak), ceramic (white or anthracite grey), walnut veneered
wood or matte lacquered white. A great fit
in both classical, transitional and contemporary interiors. The Bonaldo Big Table is available from Stardust with Free Shipping and a Low Price Guarantee. Custom made to order and imported from Italy.
Alain Gilles created the Big Table for Bonaldo in
Italy. Brussels furniture designer Alain Gilles was recently awarded
with 'designer of the year' at Interieur in Belgium. Alain Gilles’s
designs are solid and relevant, and show his industrial responsibility.
At the same time, they show a poetic side. After studying Political
Sciences and Marketing Management, Alain Gilles went back to studying
Industrial design in France. He assisted Xavier Lust in his creations,
but was eventually hired by Quinze & Milan before graduating,
where he worked for two and a half years. He opened is own studio in
2007 in order to pursue his own dreams and develop his personal approach
to product design, furniture design, and interior architecture. Alain
Gilles was named Designer of the Year 2012.
